Playing with Patterns

I've been haphazardly working up the purple and teal square doily from ds9designs free patterns page. It occurred to me that the center of the doily would look exceptionally nice with beads. Here's the result:

FREE PATTERN: Square Motif

This pattern was originally given away at the 2009 Finger Lakes Tatting convention, under the name "Tea Party Coaster". I'm posting it here for everyone to enjoy.

A Note On Reverse Chains:

A reverse chain is a chain that curves in the opposite direction of a “normal” chain. There are two simple ways to do this. The first is to use a reverse double stitch, as is used in a split ring. The second is to make a half knot, or Shoe Lace Trick, at the beginning and end of the chain, which switches the position of the shuttle and ball threads.
