Something Old, Something New

Here's a few things I tatted awhile back.

This one is the first row of the Midnight Violets pattern, that was published in the AntiCraft, only done in the round. The only changes I made were to where I joined.

The thread is an HDT from Marilee Rockley, aka Yarnplayer. I believe this batch was called Summer Trail. Isn't it gorgeous?!

This is a new pattern that I have yet to write up. I intend to also work it out to be a five point star. I did this one as a Star of David for my bonus-sister, as per her request.

  2. Thank you! My grandma [who taught me] says I am a "speed tatter." lol I guess it's because I have to make use of the little time I get. Of course, this leads to a lot of mistakes. But mistakes are just variations. Or so I've been told.

  5. Who would have thought the edging would make such a nice little mat? Well done!

  6. Martha, this is precisely why I love edgings. They have so much potential to become other things, but often get overlooked. This edging could also be done in a round, with the opposite side out, so that the points are outward, which would give it a whole other look.

  7. Hello, I admire your Midnight Violets doily, and would like to ask where I could find the pattern please? I did search for it, without success.

    1. The Midnight Violets pattern was published in the Beltane 2010 issue on The Anticraft online magazine. Here's a direct link to the pattern page >http://theanticraft.com/archive/beltane10/midnightviolets.htm

Thanks for looking! I'm glad you like it! :)
